FeederFacts Introduction |
| 03/30/2003: FeederFacts has been in beta for the last 3 months. The beta user has processed more than a dozen lots of feeder cattle. As expected we have had to make a few changes to properly service some unexpected situations. We are really pleased with results so far and hope to bring in a few additional beta users in the next month or so. 08/27/2003: We can now create that bar napkin budget for a batch of feeders and report it formally for banker or backer. We can then record the actual events (purchase, sale, feed, vet etc) then report the lot detail and create a profitability report which compares directly with the budget report we did earlier for our backers. This is a major step forward. We are now ready to try the reports on some real livestock feeders. We should be ready for beta testing pretty soon. 08/21/2003: Basic data entry and editing are working, along with the basic profitability report. Now we just have to figure out how to forecast market prices based on the rumblings of the feeders stomach. We are testing various microphones and sound to text conversion utilities. 07/31/2003: The FeederFacts development team met on Thursday 7/31 We agreed on a new name and on several interim operational functions so that the testing and data collection functions can get started. We will also try to get the art department to update the interim logo/icon. 07/08/2003: FeederFacts development has just begun. While is a relatively simple application especially when compared to InnControl, start to beta_test_ready will likely be several months. This development project is not formally funded and will be pushed forward by the regular InnControl crew on a time available basis. If you are interested, book mark this page and check back regularly. We will try to post updates on a fairly frequent basis. |
